Jonathan Bennett Explains Why He Missed the “Mean Girls” Reunion Commercials

Jonathan Bennett, the actor known for his role in "Mean Girls," explains why he couldn't join the reunion commercials. Will there be a sequel? Find out!

Jonathan Bennett, the man behind Aaron Samuels in the iconic film “Mean Girls,” has some explaining to do. Yes, that’s right, he’s revealing why he didn’t participate in the much-anticipated reunion commercials. Like, why would he miss out on all the fun, right?

So, three out of the four original “Mean Girls,” Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert, all made their grand reappearance in a series of ads for Walmart. Even Daniel Franzese’s Damian and Rajiv Surendra’s Kevin Gnapoor were there to party like it’s 2004.

But our dear Jonathan had to drop the bombshell that he couldn’t make it. According to him, he was too busy filming. Ugh, major bummer! He did express his excitement at seeing everyone back together, though. And hey, everyone’s dying to know if there will ever be a sequel, right? Well, Jonathan seems to think so. The mass consensus, to his knowledge at least, is that the whole cast would totally be down for it. Can you imagine? “Mean Girls 2: The Reunion Reunion.” We’d buy a ticket.

But hold up, Rachel McAdams also decided to sit this one out. She did, however, explain why she turned down the gig. Maybe they were all busy filming secret sequels that we don’t know about yet. “Mean Girls: Back to North Shore” and “Mean Girls: The Return of the Plastics,” anyone?

In all seriousness, it’s understandable that schedules can get in the way of a good reunion. But the fact that the cast is still game for a sequel is giving us all the feels. We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope for a “Mean Girls” reunion that we deserve.

And to Jonathan and Rachel, we forgive you for missing out on the commercials. But next time, we expect to see you there, rocking those pink shirts and quoting all the iconic lines. We expect nothing less.
