The popular boy band of the 90s sat down with Andy Cohen to discuss their new music and plans for touring. When asked about NSYNC’s reunion at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, singer Nick Lachey playfully remarked, “Stole the thunder.”
NSYNC has also been making waves with their comeback, recreating one of their iconic photos and announcing a new single called “Better Place.” The caption of their Instagram video humorously questioned who had them pose that way.
During the interview, 98 Degrees shared their thoughts on NSYNC’s reunion and admitted that it’s actually beneficial for all the boy bands involved. Member Drew Lachey explained, “When one succeeds, we all succeed. Because we’re all clumped into the same kind of pile there. So, if one’s elevated, it elevates everybody.” Nick added that he is happy for the NSYNC guys personally and hopes their reunion will be a big moment.
In addition to Nick and Drew, 98 Degrees consists of Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre. The band recently announced a 25th Anniversary Tour and revealed that they are working on new music together. Despite leading separate careers since 2003, they have always come back together over the years. They released albums in 2013 and 2017 after a 10-year hiatus.
In a separate interview, the members of 98 Degrees expressed their confidence in competing with other boy bands, both old and new. They called themselves the “blue-collar boy band” and spoke proudly about their strong work ethic and how they got discovered through singing for money and food.
