Ron Burgundy crashes Tom Brady roast, claims not to steal spotlight

Will Ferrell made a grand appearance at the Tom Brady roast, dressed as Ron Burgundy from Anchorman. Check out the hilarious jokes and surprise guests!

Hey there, party people! So, did you hear the news? Will Ferrell made a grand appearance at the Tom Brady roast on Sunday night, and guess who he was dressed up as? None other than Ron Burgundy from Anchorman! Talk about stepping into some serious character!

As he took the stage, Ferrell, oops sorry, Burgundy, was introduced as “a living legend, a world-class lover, and the No. 1 news anchor in all of Sunday.” I mean, who wouldn’t want to be introduced like that, am I right?

In his true Burgundy style, he started off by swooning over Brady’s good looks. “This man is gorgeous. … Look at those cheekbones. That’s a million-watt smile right there. … I could get lost in those eyes and right now I am that person,” he said. “Ron, pull it together. You’re a straight man. He’s making you question your sexuality. Stop looking at him. You’re here to make fun of him. Not fall in love. Concentrate.” Classic Burgundy move right there!

But wait, there’s more! Ferrell, I mean, Burgundy, continued with the jokes. He couldn’t resist poking fun at Brady’s supposed “boring” gameplay. “I never liked you Tom in all my years of watching professional football. I never saw a more boring quarterback,” he teased, before adding, “He actually made me look forward to all the fun and laughter of a Bill Belichick postgame interview.” Ouch, that’s gotta sting a little!

And speaking of Belichick, Ferrell didn’t hold back on him either. He took a playful jab at the former Patriots coach, saying, “By the way, Bill, wherever you are, I hope, you know, I hope you know it now it was Tom, it was never you. … Remember that period when people thought it was you. Well, it wasn’t. It was Tom. I understand, Bill. You’re currently unemployed. Good luck on ZipRecruiter.” Oh snap, that’s some next-level roasting right there!

But fear not, Brady fans, Ferrell/Burgundy made sure to wrap up on a positive note. “Your best years are behind you, Tom. The Super Bowls, Gisele, your movie career, it’s all done, it’s all gone. But you won’t be forgotten, you’ll always be remembered as Eli Manning’s bitch,” he quipped. But hey, at least he ended on a high note, right?

And let’s not forget the ultimate surprise of the night – bringing out Brady’s longtime coach, Mr. Bill Belichick himself. Now that’s what I call a grand finale!

Ferrell has truly outdone himself by bringing back the iconic Ron Burgundy for the Tom Brady roast. Those Anchorman fans must have been in absolute heaven witnessing this legendary moment!

And let’s give a shoutout to Netflix for streaming the event live as part of their Netflix Is a Joke Fest. It was truly a night to remember at L.A.’s Kia Forum in Inglewood.

Kudos to Will Ferrell for keeping the comedy alive with his unforgettable portrayal of Ron Burgundy at the Tom Brady roast. Who knew a news anchor could be so entertaining? Well, as Burgundy would say, “Stay classy, San Diego… I mean, Tom Brady roast!”
