The packed crowd at WWE Smackdown in Denver, Colorado went absolutely wild when The Rock stepped out from behind a backdrop to his signature music, “Electrifying,” blaring over the sound system.
It was a moment that fans had been eagerly awaiting, as the last time the WWE legend had suited up for a wrestling match was back in October 2019. The energy in the arena was undeniable as everyone cheered and scrambled to capture the epic moment on their cell phones.
After the initial shock wore off, The Rock made his way to the ring. WWE U.S. Champion Austin Concept and former NFL punter Pat McAfee were already engaged in a heated exchange of words. The Rock couldn’t resist getting in on the action and traded insults with Concept as the tension escalated.
Finally, The Rock sent Concept over the edge when he called him an “a—hole,” prompting the audience to chant the same sentiment. Concept retaliated with a flurry of punches, but The Rock quickly turned the tables and delivered a spinebuster to his opponent.
With Concept laid out on the canvas, The Rock delivered his signature move, the “people’s elbow.” It was game over for Concept as he was down for the count.
