Kodak Black, the rapper who seems to always find himself in some kind of trouble, has once again ended up on the wrong side of the law. This time, he’s facing multiple charges, including drug possession, and has pleaded not guilty.
The whole debacle started when the authorities in Plantation, Florida found Kodak Black in his Bentley, blocking a road with his taillights on. When the officer approached, they found him asleep with the window halfway down, the smell of “burnt weed” and a cup of alcohol in the car. As if that wasn’t incriminating enough, white powder was allegedly seen falling from the rapper’s mouth when the officer ran his driver’s license information. It was then determined that the substance was cocaine, leading to his arrest.
The rapper was booked into the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and charged with possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, and an “improper stop/stand/park.” This is just the latest in a long line of legal issues for Kodak Black, who seems to have a penchant for finding trouble wherever he goes.
But the drama didn’t end there. After his arrest, there was much speculation about his bail and when he would appear in court. It was reported that his bail amount was set at $5,000 for the possession of cocaine charge, with the bail amounts for the other charges remaining undisclosed. As for his court appearance, it was scheduled for the following day, Thursday, December 7.
Fast forward to Friday, December 8, and the case took an interesting turn. Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, pleaded not guilty to all his charges and was released after his bond was posted. He even reportedly requested a trial by jury, showing that he’s ready to fight these charges tooth and nail.
But the court isn’t letting him off that easy. A Pretrial Services Supervision Order has been put in place, requiring the rapper to remain in Broward County and the state of Florida, not violate any laws, attend all court hearings, and report to a Pretrial Services Office twice a week via telephone. On top of that, he must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and any recommended follow-up treatment, submit to random drug and alcohol tests, and abstain from alcohol and illegal substances.
While all this drama is unfolding, Kodak Black has remained silent on the issue, with no public statement addressing his recent arrest. It seems like he’s trying to keep a low profile and deal with his legal troubles without adding fuel to the fire.
