Ridley Scott’s ‘Napoleon’ to conquer China screens with release date!

So, you know how Ridley Scott is like a big deal in the movie world, right? Well, his latest flick, ‘Napoleon’, has only gone and snagged itself a release date in China. And not just any release date, oh no. This bad boy is hitting screens in the Middle Kingdom on Dec. 1. That’s some prime real estate, my friends.

Now, ‘Napoleon’ isn’t just any old movie. It’s a big-budget historical epic, and it’s coming at you from Apple Original Films and Sony Pictures. In North America, it’s hitting theaters on Nov. 22 through Sony Pictures and will be available to stream on Apple TV+ at some point in the future. So, whether you’re a theater buff or a streaming junkie, you’ll be able to catch this bad boy.

The movie is written by David Scarpa and stars none other than Joaquin Phoenix as Napoleon Bonaparte himself. And if that’s not enough to get you excited, Vanessa Kirby is also in the mix as Empress Joséphine. You know this is going to be epic when you’ve got Oscar winners on board.

Now, the runtime for this bad boy is a hefty two hours and 38 minutes. But hey, that didn’t stop Universal’s ‘Oppenheimer’ from cleaning up earlier this year, did it? That movie raked in a cool $61 million in China, proving that Chinese moviegoers are totally down for long runtimes and weighty historical subjects. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see Joaquin Phoenix strutting around as Napoleon for over two and a half hours?

And when we’re talking about Ridley Scott, we can’t forget about his track record in China. ‘The Martian’ pulled in a whopping $94.9 million, and ‘Alien: Covenant’ brought in $45.4 million. So, you know he’s got some serious cred in the Chinese market.

So, mark your calendars, folks. ‘Napoleon’ is coming your way on Dec. 1, and it’s going to be epic. Keep your eyes peeled for this one because it’s sure to be a blockbuster. And who knows, maybe we’ll even get a sequel. Napoleon 2: Electric Boogaloo, anyone?
