In a not-so-surprising turn of events, Danielle Maltby and Michael Allio have called it quits. The couple, who met on season 8 of Bachelor in Paradise, announced their split earlier this week. However, Maltby recently revealed on her podcast, The WoMed, that Allio dumped her shortly after her egg retrieval process for fertility preservation.
Maltby recounted the events, stating that the surgery went well and when she woke up, Allio was by her side with a Matcha latte. However, the joy of successfully retrieving 11 eggs and freezing eight didn’t last long. The very next day, Allio ended their relationship, leaving Maltby blindsided and heartbroken.
The former Bachelor alum had made the big move from Nashville, Tennessee, to Cleveland, Ohio, where Allio resides with his young son, James. It seemed as though they were serious about building a future together and starting a family of their own.
According to Maltby, the breakup occurred about two and a half months ago, but she is still processing the pain. Allio went public with the split on September 18, expressing his admiration for Maltby and acknowledging that love was there, but they were not compatible.
Maltby, on the other hand, is still struggling to find answers and navigate her emotions. She mourns not just the loss of the person she loved, but also the future they had envisioned together. Allio made her feel safe and believed in her, and that sense of security was shattered.
