Huntley, or Michael Huntley as he’s known in real life, totally slayed on The Voice Season 24. This 33-year-old artist from Virginia quickly became one of the top contenders this season, and let me tell you, it’s no wonder he won. He went head to head with Mara Justine, Jacquie Roar, Lila Forde, and Ruby Leigh during a wild two-night season finale, and he emerged as the ultimate champion. He never failed to bring his A-game, week after week, and boy, did he deliver.
So, who exactly is Huntley? Well, he’s been singing since, like, forever. Even Reba McEntire pointed out that this guy has a Chris Stapleton vibe, and all the coaches seem to think he’s destined for a long and successful career. You heard it here first, folks. Huntley is the real deal.
For his jaw-dropping Blind Audition, Huntley sang his heart out with a stunning rendition of “She Talks to Angels” by The Black Crowes. And would you believe it? From there, he just breezed through the Battles, Knockouts, and Playoffs with jaw-dropping performances. “What you’re giving us on stage is well beyond a competition,” John Legend told Huntley. “You’re already a star.” Well, ain’t that the truth?
Niall and Huntley crushed their performance of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” in the finale, and that, my friends, sealed the deal. Huntley was the one to beat, and he came out on top.
But there’s more to this rockstar than just his killer voice. Did you know he’s a dad? That’s right. He introduced his adorable 6-year-old daughter Stella during his Blind Audition, and he even dedicated a performance of David Kushner’s “Daylight” to her during the Playoffs. Huntley calls Virginia home, although he hails from Spring Hill, Florida originally. He moved to Nashville for a bit after college, but he made his way back to Virginia, where he had been performing before his big break on The Voice. And let’s not forget, he’s even released his own debut single, “Holdin On,” in 2022. Talk about talent.
In a funny turn of events, Huntley, who has been working as a booking agent for musicians since 2022, has transitioned into a full-time musician. He’s performing 5 times a week, and boy, does it sound like he’s living his best life.
