Is The Punisher veteran hired as Daredevil: Born Again showrunner by Marvel?

Marvel Studios may finally bring back Daredevil: Born Again with the help of a veteran from The Punisher as the showrunner for the Disney Plus project.

Ever since the announcement of a creative reboot for Daredevil: Born Again, fans have been eagerly waiting for updates from Marvel Studios. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel has found the perfect person to oversee this task. Dario Scardapane, well-known for his work on The Punisher and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, has been appointed as the showrunner for this highly anticipated MCU show.

In addition to Scardapane, Born Again has also enlisted the talents of two new directors, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Having previously worked on other successful MCU projects like Loki, they are now entrusted with completing the remaining episodes of the first season of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney Plus.

What to Expect from the New Daredevil Series

Marvel Studios recently made the decision to revamp the entire creative team for Daredevil: Born Again due to internal criticism. The previous version of the show primarily focused on the legal aspects of Matt Murdock’s life, with the hero not appearing in his suit until the fourth episode. However, for the upcoming reboot, the series is set to undergo a complete creative overhaul, shifting its focus towards more “action and violence”.

Although there is little information available about the plot of Daredevil: Born Again, it has been confirmed that Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, Sandrine Holt, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, and Michael Gaston will feature in the series, alongside Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, a.k.a Kingpin.

As of now, Daredevil: Born Again does not have a release date on Disney Plus.
