Ariana Greenblatt recently made her debut in the Star Wars universe, portraying a younger version of Ahsoka Tano. The highly anticipated show, Ahsoka, saw Rosario Dawson take on the role of the older Ahsoka, while Greenblatt brilliantly played the younger version. Greenblatt has now shared insights into her preparation process for the role, including watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars and studying Dawson’s performance.
Greenblatt reveals, “I watched a ton of Clone Wars episodes. I mean, when I was getting ready for rehearsal and all of that, it was just always on in the background.” It’s clear that immersing herself in the world of Ahsoka Tano was crucial to capturing the essence of the character.
However, Greenblatt had an additional challenge. She explains, “The little plot twist in this episode is yes, although I am playing 13/17-year-old Ahsoka, Ahsoka is still Rosario’s mentally.” In order to merge the characteristics of both versions, Greenblatt took the opportunity to observe Dawson on set. She closely observed how Dawson walked, talked, and embodied Ahsoka’s essence. Greenblatt wanted to ensure she portrayed the character with authenticity, stating, “I just, like, soaked up all of her body language because I really, really, really wanted to do it right.”
The question remains whether Greenblatt will reprise her role as the younger Ahsoka Tano in future Star Wars projects. Speculations among fans suggest the possibility of her return in season 2 of Ahsoka or in another flashback to The Clone Wars. Regardless, it is evident that she delivered a stellar performance.

The Ahsoka Tano series is being developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, the co-creator of Ahsoka alongside George Lucas. Ahsoka first appeared in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The cast of the highly anticipated series includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, and Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker, a.k.a. Darth Vader. Ivanna Sakhno and Ray Stevenson complete the ensemble.
