As the festival progresses, all eyes are on the coveted Audience Award. Five films, including “The Boy and the Heron,” “The Holdovers,” “American Fiction,” “Origin,” and “Rustin,” are considered top contenders for this prize. Winning the Audience Award at TIFF often indicates a film’s potential for success at the Oscars.
While it’s still early days, these films have certainly made an impression at TIFF and are generating Oscar buzz. As the awards season approaches, it will be interesting to see how these films fare and if they live up to the initial hype.
