Blade star Mahershala Ali stays positive amidst long development for upcoming project!

  • Blade star Mahershala Ali is getting frustrated with the delays in the Marvel movie development.
  • The project has faced multiple changes in directors and writers, causing significant setbacks.
  • The production has experienced multiple strikes and script changes, causing uncertainty in its progress.

Hey there, folks! Let’s talk about Mahershala Ali and his frustration with the never-ending development of the Blade movie. Now, it’s been a whopping five years since the announcement that Mahershala Ali would be taking on the role of Blade. But with all the twists and turns, it’s starting to feel like some folks are always trying to ice skate uphill, as Mahershala himself would say.

According to a recent report from THR, Mahershala Ali is getting increasingly fed up with the slow progress of the Blade movie. And who can blame him? I mean, other projects announced at the same time, like Doctor Strange and Thor, have already hit the big screen while Blade is still stuck in development hell.

Originally, Blade was set to be directed by Bassam Tariq, but Marvel had second thoughts and gave Mahershala a list of potential replacements. But being the boss that he is, Mahershala handpicked Yann Demange, who eventually left the project. Talk about a rollercoaster ride! Just when Blade was gearing up to start production last year, the writers strike and actors strike hit, bringing everything to a screeching halt. And even after the strikes ended, Blade remained in limbo. Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre, who were originally on board, jumped ship, and new writers were brought in to spice up the script.

Now, nobody knows for sure how much money has gone down the drain on Blade so far. According to THR, at one point a massive train set was built for the movie when Tariq was still in charge. Talk about putting the pedal to the metal! The script has also gone through some serious makeover sessions, jumping from the 1920s in one version to the modern-day in the current draft by Eric Pearson.

We all want to see Blade kicking butt on the big screen, but it’s tough watching Marvel struggle to get this project off the ground. Even the OG Blade, Wesley Snipes, couldn’t resist chiming in on the chaos, saying, “Blade, lordylordylordy…folks still lookin for the secret sauce, ridin snowmobiles in traffic, kinda rough. Daywalkers make it look easy, don’t they?”

It’s a wild ride for sure, but let’s all keep our fingers crossed that Blade will see the light of day sooner rather than later. And hey, if you enjoyed this little chat about Blade and Mahershala’s woes, why not share it with your buddies? The more, the merrier!
