So, guess what? SonyLIV is up to some mischief again and this time they’re bringing the gang back together for another epic scam! Yup, you heard it right. The Indian streaming platform has ordered a third series in the crime drama franchise called “Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga.” And who’s behind this genius idea? None other than Applause Entertainment and director extraordinaire, Hansal Mehta.

According to Sony LIV, “Scam 2010” is all about the rags-to-riches story of maverick businessman Subrata Roy, based on the book ‘Sahara: the Untold Story’ by Tamal Bandyopadhyay. This guy was living the high life in the early 2000s, until he got caught up in a whirlwind of accusations ranging from chit-fund manipulations to fake investors. And guess what? He ended up getting arrested in 2014. Talk about a fall from grace!

But here’s the kicker – there’s still around 25,000 crore rupees lying unclaimed with the government authorities from his scam. Yep, you read that right. The repercussions of this scam are still being felt today. Crazy, right?

Now, we don’t know about you, but we’re itching to know who’s going to star in this epic saga. The teaser trailer just says it’s “streaming soon,” so we’ll have to wait and see.

This isn’t the first rodeo for Sony LIV, though. They’ve already hit it out of the park with their previous “Scam” series – “Scam 2003: The Telgi Story” and “Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story.” These bad boys have catapulted director Hansal Mehta into the streaming series game. The 2003 series delved into Abdul Karim Telgi’s rise in the counterfeit world, while “Scam 1992″ explored the highs and lows of Harshad Mehta in the stock market.

Sameer Nair, the man in charge over at Applause Entertainment, had this to say: “The Scam series has become more than just a show; it’s a pop cultural phenomenon.” With “Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga,” they’re taking things up a notch and giving audiences a peek into the audacious life of one of India’s most ambitious businessmen. And with Hansal Mehta at the helm and Sony LIV backing them up, they’re all set to knock it out of the park.

Hansal Mehta, the showrunner and director, chimed in as well: “Scam is not just a franchise for me. It is a chronicling of our times.” He’s pumped to collaborate once again with Applause and SonyLIV to bring this larger-than-life story to the small screen.

And let’s not forget Danish Khan, the bigwig over at SonyLIV and Studio Next, who said: “We are delighted to, once again, collaborate with Applause and Hansal Mehta to bring the third edition of the Scam series.” These guys are all set to raise the bar and create newer benchmarks in compelling storytelling.
