Guess what, folks? The first track from Tom Holkenborg’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga soundtrack has been unleashed upon the world! If you’re itching for a taste of the Wasteland before the movie’s release, then this is your lucky day.
The track, titled “Dementus Is Gaining,” is a heart-pumping anthem that will transport you right into one of the franchise’s legendary chase scenes. Tom Holkenborg, also known as JunkieXL, previously worked on the soundtrack for Mad Max: Fury Road, so we know we’re in for a treat with Furiosa. The man knows how to rock our socks off with his music, and I can’t wait to experience the awesomeness he has in store for us.
In a fun twist, Chris Hemsworth takes on the role of Dementus in the film. Fun fact: Hemsworth actually tried to land a part in Fury Road but couldn’t snag an audition for the role of Max Rockatansky. Talk about a missed opportunity! But hey, everything worked out in the end, and now he’s part of the Mad Max universe. That’s what they call fate, folks.
If you’re hungry for more Furiosa action, a six-minute sneak peek was shown at CinemaCon in Las Vegas recently, and our very own Chris Bumbray got a front-row seat to the madness. Lucky devil. Judging from his reactions, the movie is shaping up to be another adrenaline-pumping ride through the Wasteland, just like Fury Road.
Here’s the official synopsis for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga: “As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by the Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”
