Shannen Doherty vows to “carpe diem” despite bone-invading cancer.

Shannen Doherty has revealed that her stage 4 breast cancer has spread to her bones.

Let’s face it, cancer sucks. But Shannen Doherty is not letting it bring her down. In an interview with People magazine, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star opened up about her ongoing health battle and how she plans to keep pushing ahead amid her treatment.

“I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better,” Doherty said. “I’m just not — I’m not done.”

The 52-year-old Charmed actress has been candid about her medical journey since February 2020, when she announced that her breast cancer had returned at stage 4 after being in remission for years.

You gotta give it to her, she’s not holding anything back. Earlier this year, Doherty shared on Instagram that a CT scan showed that her cancer was no longer only in her chest but had spread to her brain.

As Doherty hopes to get into clinical trials as new cancer treatments and diagnoses are developed, she is grateful for each day and believes her “greatest memory is yet to come.”

She’s not letting cancer define her. “People just assume that it means you can’t walk, you can’t eat, you can’t work. They put you out to pasture at a very early age — ‘You’re done, you’re retired,’ and we’re not,” she added. “We’re vibrant, and we have such a different outlook on life. We are people who want to work and embrace life and keep moving forward.”

And she’s not just sitting around feeling sorry for herself. In her new podcast, Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, launching Dec. 6 on iHeartRadio, Doherty is planning to look back at her life, including career highlights, past relationships, cancer battle, and health regimens.
