Their brief romance from a few years ago has long been the subject of fan speculation, with songs like “Out of the Woods” and “Style” being widely believed to be inspired by their relationship.
Swift, however, has never explicitly identified Styles as the subject of her songs, but she has also never explicitly denied it. Her habit of leaving clues and hints in her music paired with her refusal to “name names” makes her a favorite topic for fans and tabloids alike.
After their split, Swift went on to date high-profile figures including Calvin Harris, Tom Hiddleston, and Joe Alwyn, while Styles experienced high-profile romances with Kendall Jenner and Olivia Wilde before getting together with Russell according to recent media reports.
