Elle King Postpones Fort Worth Show and Faces Backlash for Recent Performances

Singer Elle King disappoints fans by postponing show in Fort Worth, Texas after her controversial appearance at the Grand Ole Opry.

In a move that has left her fans disappointed, singer Elle King has decided to postpone her upcoming show in Fort Worth, Texas, which was scheduled for this Friday. This would have been King’s first performance since her notorious appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on January 19th.

During her ill-fated set at the Dolly Parton tribute, King left the audience perplexed when she admitted to being “hammered” and seemed to have difficulty articulating her words on stage. As if that wasn’t enough, she also managed to forget the lyrics multiple times and even cursed, a major faux pas in the conservative environment of the Opry.

The Billy Bob’s Texas venue decided to break the news of the postponement on social media, revealing that the show has been rescheduled for September 21st, a staggering eight months from now. The announcement stated, “Original event tickets will be accepted for the new date,” while leaving fans in the dark when it came to additional details or refund options.

The Grand Ole Opry itself, feeling the need to do damage control, issued an apology on social media for the debacle that occurred on January 19th. “We deeply regret and apologize for the language that was used during last night’s second Opry performance,” the venue expressed. “For our first time at The Opry, it was a shame we all had to witness that.”

Unfortunately for King, her troubles didn’t end with the Opry. She also struggled during her appearance on ‘New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash’, where she slurred her words while performing her song ‘Drunk (And I Don’t Want to Go Home)’. In an attempt to justify her behavior, she casually remarked, “It’s okay, I live what I sing, y’all,” leaving audience members scratching their heads.

As of now, King has remained silent about her plans moving forward. Despite the recent setbacks, she still has shows scheduled for the upcoming months, with performances lined up as far out as October. Only time will tell if she manages to get her act together before then.
