Does Earth-42 Miles Morales in ‘Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse’ have ‘The Parent Trap’ elements?

The ending of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse saw Miles Morales come face-to-face with an alternate version of himself from Earth-42. According to writers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the sequel Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse will feature elements like The Parent Trap between the two.

Despite only appearing at the end of the film, fans have been frothing at the mouth for more content featuring Miles Morales and his Earth-42 variant. While they had limited interactions in the film, it seems as though Earth-42’s Miles will be a main player in Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse, with writers Phil Lord and Chris Miller teasing an expansion of his role:

“It was more about the alternate Miles. Basically, the thing that is now the very, very end of the movie was the bulk of the original concept,” Miller told Empire Magazine. “Basically, that ended up becoming the second half of the movie, which then ended up becoming mostly the third movie.”

For those unaware, The Parent Trap is a film where Lindsay Lohan plays two identical twins that were separated at birth and switch families during the course of the film. It’s possible Miles Morales and his Earth-42 counterpart will work together to trick Miguel O’Hara’s Spider Society in order to save the day. Though exactly how these elements will be used in Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse is yet to be seen.
