Has work on the next installment of ‘James Bond 26’ begun?

There have been a lot of rumors about who will take up the mantle of James Bond following Daniel Craig’s tenure. However, it seems as though work on the project hasn’t even begun.

Ever since Daniel Craig ended his run as 007 in No Time To Die, fans have been speculating who would take up the suit. Many believed that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was the frontrunner, having seemingly met with the producers for James Bond. However, according to producer Barbara Broccoli, work on the next James Bond film has yet to even start.

“I think these movies reflect the time they are in,” Broccoli told Empire. “And there’s a big, big road ahead reinventing it for the next chapter and we haven’t even begun with that.”

While it’s certainly a shame that Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond may be the last we see of the character for a while, Barbara Broccoli’s comments should give fans of the series some hope. A reinvention of 007 may be just what society needs, and may allow for more actors to have a chance at playing the role. When it comes to waiting for 007, it seems there’s no time to cry.

The End of an Era

No Time To Die marked the end of Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond, with his incarnation of 007 meeting his demise. The shock ending brought the latest Bond era to a pretty definitive conclusion. Now the hunt is on for a new Bond as producers prepare to reimagine the franchise.

James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have yet to find Daniel Craig’s 007 successor. The two recently teased that he would be a “thirty-something” year old actor. Craig carried the franchise for 15 years, so the next 007 actor is expected to play the character for multiple movies.
